Everyone is invited to celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake! Join in the festivities at the Lunar New Year Celebration brought to you by Livermore Valley Arts and Las Positas College Movement API and Asian Pacific Island Club, APAPA Tri-Valey, and Stanford Health.

Celebrate The Year of The Wood Snake

The Lunar New Year Celebration will be held at the Bankhead Theater Lawn, 2400 First Street, Livermore, on Sunday, February 2, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The Lunar New Year Celebration is a free family-friendly community event featuring performances, demonstrations, delicious food, arts and crafts, and much more to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year.​

Cultural Arts and Activities

The event will feature informational booths, demonstrations, and performances such as a Tai Chi demonstration, live guzheng music by Melody Yan Music accompanied by dancers, several dance performances by XiaoPei Dance, Kung Fu Dragon, and Golden Turtle Lion Dance Association. Participants will be able to experience a variety of fun and engaging cultural activities such as a lantern making station and a Chinese calligraphy display by Wei-Ting Art. Livermore Valley Arts will also be handing out red envelopes! Children are welcome to enjoy face painting and balloon making art by Jollifaces. Asian sweet treats and beverages will be for sale by Teaspoon Livermore Coffee and Tea, Grounded Coffee, and Kuya's Cookies. The event will conclude with an exciting dragon and lion dance that you will not want to miss!
