HACIENDA ROADWAY RESURFACING PROJECT

Road construction activity will soon be taking place to perform road resurfacing projects in portions of Hacienda along Hopyard Road. The project is a significant undertaking involving a number of activities that will be conducted over the next several weeks into early September. While activities have been scheduled to provide minimum disruption, lane closures, restricted traffic access and delays may occur adjacent to areas where work is being performed.

Schedule of Work

Preparatory work is currently under way and short-term lane closures and limited construction activity will be seen along Hopyard Road between Valley Avenue and Gibraltar Drive as of July 1. To safely complete the work multiple lanes of traffic will need to be closed, requiring work to be done during days and nights. During the day, the city will close one lane of traffic in each direction, and during nighttime work, two lanes will be closed, leaving one lane open in each direction. Specific activities are expected as follows:

  • During the week of July 1 preparatory work for the roadway will be done during the day. Night work starts the week of July 7 and will continue for seven to eight weeks for paving-related operations.
  • During July 1 through July 12, utility work will be taking place during the day.
  • During the weeks of July 7 and July 14, work will be taking place to remove the top layer of pavement. Crews will slowly work their way down the street with audible construction noise lasting for one to two nights per section.
  • During the weeks of July 21 and July 28, work will continue with audible construction noise expected for a few hours per night, each night.
  • During July 29 through August 9, traffic signal maintenance work will be conducted during the day.
  • During the weeks of August 4 and August 11, work will continue with audible construction noise expected for a few hours a night sporadically throughout these weeks.
  • During August 6 through September 6, above-ground utility and striping work will be taking place during the day.
