AT&T Employees Donate Time to Four Local Parks

Four area parks benefitted as over 125 AT&T employees each donated four hours of work on August 14. The volunteer activity was part of a nationwide campaign, AT&T Cares, in which the company is working to donate a total of 1 million hours of volunteer time.

"Our group decided that we wanted to do something together, that we all wanted to participate in the same event to make it special," explains AT&T's Darlene Bedell.

The group worked at four different parks: Del Prado, Mission Hills, Tawny, and Vintage Hills, planting ground cover to revitalize the parks.

Their efforts were appreciated by both the Pleasanton Parks Department and local residents.

"We had a lot of people coming over to thank us and to tell us they really appreciated that we were doing the work," says Bedell. "It was fun and it felt good."

The AT&T Cares program gives each employee a paid workday to perform community service.
